Somewhere between singer-songwriter and great rock'n'roll, the coarse-grained elegance of a rattling guitar is paired with a drum wrapped in the gentleness of love.
Roli Strobel and Lukas Selinger test the simplicity of the duo formation with whimsically weird songs about the state of the local and international human condition. They feature characters dressed in rich colours who are on the dark side of life. At one point, everything sounds quiet to unexpectedly go loud.
A melodica can be heard, a wondrous melody hums dreamily away, accompanied only by the rhythmic buzz of a snare drum.
And then, all of a sudden, all the dams break – it is music full of magic and pain.

History
When Roli Strobel founded L'Air Maureen in 1987, he was a greenhorn. 14 comic volumes of "Zurich by Mike" as a lyricist, 300 of his own compositions, around 30 music albums and easily 1000 live concerts later, is still in the running. Last but not least, it was the request of an American label to re-release the L'Air Maureen debut cassette «Tingtingface» from 1988 that convinced him to reinvent this project on the label of his friends from Patient Records.

L’Air Maureen spielen sich als Duo mit Gesang, Gitarre und Schlagzeug mitten in die Musikherzen derjenigen Menschen, die für immer und ewig gute Songs mögen.
Irgendwo zwischen Singer-Songwriter und grossem Rock’n’Roll paart sich die grobkörnige Eleganz einer knatternden Gitarre mit einem in der Sanftmut der Liebe verhangenen Drum.
Die Schlichtheit der Duo-Formation erproben Roli Strobel und Lukas Selinger an wunderlich schrägen Songs zur Lage der lokalen und internationalen menschlichen Befindlichkeit. Darin tummeln sich Figuren, die in satte Farben gekleidet auf der Schattenseite des Lebens
stehen. Einmal klingt das leise und dann plötzlich richtig laut. Eine Melodika erklingt, es summt eine wundersame Melodie verträumt vor sich hin, begleitet nur vom rhythmischen Schnarren einer Snaredrum. Und dann brechen urplötzlich alle Dämme – es ist eine Musik voller Zauber und Schmerz.

Als Roli Strobel 1987 L’Air Maureen gründete, war er ein Greenhorn. 14 Comic-Bände «Zürich by Mike» als Texter, 300 eigene Kompositionen, rund 30 Musikalben und locker 1000 gespielte Live-Konzerte später, will er es noch immer wissen. Nicht zuletzt war es die Anfrage eines amerikanischen Labels, die L’Air Maureen-Debutkassette «Tingtingface» aus
dem Jahr 1988 noch einmal zu veröffentlichen, die ihn davon überzeugte, dieses Projekt auf dem Label seiner Freunde von Patient Records neu zu erfinden.
